I am traveling Sept 19-26 and am wondering how the reservations for dining works. We have the deluxe plan and I am trying to figure out if I choose times or if they assign me times? Are there good times for each meal?

    Hi Deanna,

Making a dining reservation at a Disney World restaurant is similar to how you'd book a restaurant at home. When you call you tell them which restaurant you're interested in and on what day and time you'd like to dine there, they'll then book you in if it's available and give you a confirmation number. On the day check in at the restaurant and you'll be given the next available table for your party size.

As regards to dining times it really depends on your family, my family like to eat at off times to avoid the crowds so for example we wouldn't book a 1pm lunch or 7pm dinner reservation, this also cuts down on waiting times for an available table. For breakfast we like to book the earliest possible reservation, at lunch time we either like to eat at about 11.30am or 2.30pm and we prefer an early dinner at about 5.30pm. Obviously you need to take into account your own families needs but that's what works best for us!

If you haven't seen it already click HERE to view the Deluxe Dining Plan Brochure, it lists all the participating restaurants and lots of useful information.

    Have a great trip,
