We're traveling in Sept. for the first time to DW! Our boys are: 6 & 4, and 10 month old baby girl, with these ages, do you think visiting Epcot is worth it? And should we go for a short day at the parks (8 am-3 pm) or for a mid day nap in a long day?

    Hi Michael,

Hooray for the first trip to Disney! I think your boys will love it if you plan well. I would go to EPCOT on fresh legs and before you go to Magic Kingdom. I am sure your pirates-no offense to the princess but I think this is a pirate trip for sure-would love to visit the Living Seas and Nemo, journey into the Imagination with Figment, go Soarin' over California and who wouldn't want to sit in the front seat of a car on Test Track?

The countries of World Showcase provide a different experience. There are trolls in Norway, acrobats in China and who know what other adventures await you in the other countries. There are KidCot stops where they can make masks which give everyone a break in the touring.

As for how much time, if your family would do better on a nap at the resort, then do that. It is more enjoyable when you can keep to their schedule especially if the four year old will not take a nap in the stroller. When my princesses where little, we did not go back for naps because they would take a nap in the stroller or in the cool auditoriums when we were watching a movie on a country. The World Showcase is just as fun at night as it is during the day.

Finally, with all of your touring, go slow, relax and enjoy your children. Disney is truly enjoyed under the philosophy-less is more at this age. You can always come back!
