    I am traveling to Orlando in October with my husband and 2 girls (ages 1 & 3)...we are going to WDW for 1 day. Can you recommend any rides/restaurants in the park for young children? Can you also recommend anything outside the park to do in Orlando?

    Hi Anna!

    October is a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World! There are so many events and happenings at the parks!

    Since you're only getting to spend a single day at the parks, I'd suggest visiting the Magic Kingdom. Your girls are the perfect ages to enjoy Fantasyland and visit with the characters!

    A perfect in-park dining location is the Crystal Palace. While enjoying a great selection of food on the buffet (try the Puffed French Toast at breakfast!!), you'll be visited by Winnie the Pooh and friends! The characters will visit your table as you enjoy you meal. This makes for a relaxed and low-stress way to meet the characters. Since your one-yr old may not be too sure of them (hey, they are big - and Tigger is pretty bright orange!), she'll be able to watch them around the room without feeling too pressured to be right up close with them.

    Another perk of visiting in October is that the parks are decorated for Halloween. You'll be able to visit see some pretty awesome decorations. On select nights the Magic Kingdom park also closes early for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. With young kids however, you may not be able to fully enjoy the party which normally runs until midnight. So, when selecting your day to visit, you may want to avoid these days so that you can get the longer park hours on a "regular" day.
