Mom And Daughter; Animal Kingdom

    We are traveling in October with our 2 1/2 year old and her grandparents. We have a choice between staying at the Poly (in one room with 2 queen sized beds). Or, we can stay at the Royal Orleans - French Quarter in adjoining rooms. What should we do?

    The Polynesian is a wonderful deluxe resort with great restaurants and all the amenities you could want for a Disney stay. The transportation couldn't be more convenient and view of the Magic Kingdom from the Beach just can't be beat.

    That being said, I'm going to send you to Port Orleans. I have traveled to WDW several times with my own parents, whom I get along great with, but I can't imagine hubby and I and one of the kids staying in a room with them. Think about all the little annoyances of life that will get magnified on vacation. What happens if the adults wake up at different times? What happens if someone snores? What happens if someone needs a while in the bathroom? What happens if you want to watch different things on TV? There will be no privacy for changing. Four adults will have to tiptoe around the child while he or she is sleeping. I could go on and on. But I really think from a practical standpoint, with a multigenerational group, having two separate rooms and two separate bathrooms goes a long way to making everyone's vacation more comfortable.

    And by the way, Port Orleans is beautiful. This is my favorite moderate resort. If you stay there you MUST try the freshly made beneigts in the food court. Mmmmm!
