We are traveling Nov. 20-24. Is that busy time or are we okay since leaving on Monday before Thanksgiving? Also saw on travel channel GF has life size gingerbread house. Is that true, and if so will it be up by then? Thanks so much!

That weekend won't be totally empty, as some people do take a week's vacation at Thanksgiving time, starting the weekend before the holiday. In fact, I just learned last night that a neighbor of mine is doing just that. However, the majority of Thanksgiving visitors to WDW will be arriving on Tuesday (like me) or Wednesday. You will experience moderate park attendance levels, but not the heavy crowds that you would a few days later.

For the past several years, there has been a giant gingerbread house built in the lobby of the Grand Floridian. Using history as a guide, the Disney chefs will begin assembling the house in early to mid November. You will be likely to see the house completed. Or if you're lucky, you may even be able to watch the house during the assembly stages. Miniature gingerbread house replicas should be for sale in the Grand Floridian lobby.
