Hello!! We will be traveling in May 2016 and celebrating our 15 Yr Anniv. I would like to plan a surprise for my hubby. I read about ordering the cakes. How does this work? What are the delivery options. We will be staying at the Poly. Thx!

    Hi Sarah!

This summer, my hubby and I celebrated our anniversary at Walt Disney World, and we had a blast! Be sure that your special occasion is noted on your resort reservation, and you should receive complimentary “Happy Anniversary” buttons when you check-in. If you don’t, just ask! We wore our buttons throughout our vacation and enjoyed the congratulatory greetings of Cast Members and even fellow Guests. And you never know what extra anniversary pixie dust may land your way!

Ordering a cake is a delicious way to mark your occasion! Round, 6” celebration cakes in vanilla or chocolate are available at most table service restaurants, simply request one when you check-in for your meal. For something more exciting, I recommend you special order a cake. Round 8” or 10” cakes are available to be delivered to most Disney table service restaurants at Disney Resort Hotels and theme parks. Another standard option that may be available is a Mickey Mouse Cake that offers a choice of vanilla or chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate ganache.

You can also inquire about super special custom order cakes from the bakery at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to be delivered to your room at Disney’s Polynesian Resort via Private Dining. These cakes would have more options you would need to discuss with the bakery, but an image search might yield you some amazing photos of what has been done in the past.

To order a cake, please call the Cake-Ordering Hotline at 407-827-2253. Orders should be placed at least 72 hours in advance. Be sure to have your resort or dining reservation where you would like the cake delivered, available when you call. There is also a website called Disney Travel Babble that offers a ton of information about cakes at Walt Disney World. You may want to check that out too. Have fun picking out your special cake, Sarah!
