We are traveling March 14-21 and I’m trying to find the late night festival of lights parade. It also looks like there was an Elsa inspired parade but it’s not available that week? It also looks like they made 3 PM. Character parade is also not available?

Hey there, Debra, and welcome to planDisney!

Parades are as baked into the Disney culture as Mickey Mouse himself. There are 2 parades and a smaller cavalcade that pass through Magic Kingdom each day: Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, and Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade. I'm happy to help you prep for prime parade viewing by demystifying the schedule a bit.

While you can check the Hours & Events Calendar for information on your dates, I find it more effective to check each parade's schedule daily in the My Disney Experience app. Tap the location icon and set the location to Magic Kingdom and the settings to Entertainment. The icon between the partners' statue and the stage in the middle of the park holds info on all three parades, including their times. I've found in my personal experience that the times shown here are pretty consistent.

Now let's break down these times and vibes. The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade rolls twice at 10:30 AM and 11:45 AM, showcasing the characters of wild tales, old and new. Disney Festival of Fantasy kicks off at 3 PM each day. This tribute to all things imagination features many larger-than-life floats, fantastical sea creatures, The Lost Boys, moving vines, and plenty of Disney royalty. And the final parade of each Disney day is Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. You can have as many as two opportunities each evening to catch this one. Its usual times are 7:45 PM and 10 PM. This twinkly, sparkly, shiny spectacle is led by The Blue Fairy and is a testament to the dreamers and wishers on stars in the Disney canon. And you're in luck. If Elsa is a must-see character, you've got the chance to catch her multiple times as she's featured in both Disney Festival of Fantasy and Disney Starlight!

Debra, the parades at The Walt Disney World Resort hold some of my favorite memories. I've had one of Peter Pan's Lost Boys declare himself my brother while he claimed my giggling mother as his mother, too. Many years ago, I had Pete of Pete's Dragon fame wish me a happy birthday from the back of Elliot the dragon. And I watched my goddaughter have all of her little dreams come to life. May you fill up your own cup with wonder and imagination as you watch the magic roll. If you have any other questions, come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
