Traveling in January with 2 special needs sons, staying at AKL Kindani 1 bed villa savanna view do the balcony's have safety bars or locks up high?

    Jambo Jacklyn,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village is our first "home" at Walt Disney World and frankly my favorite. The minute I enter the kraal and see the savanna in the distance, I immediately relax. The combination of live animals, delicious food, and a Resort that is slightly set apart from the hustle and bustle is fantastic!

We just returned from a weekend at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village, and we stayed in a 1-Bedroom Villa - Savanna View room. You are going to love the convenience of two separate bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer & dryer in your unit. One of our favorite things to do is have groceries delivered to the Resort so that we can enjoy breakfast on the balcony while watching the animals have theirs. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is home to over 200 hoofed animals and birds, so I am sure that you will find a favorite to watch amongst them!

I have three kiddos under six, so I understand the concern with a balcony attached to your Villa. No worries! All of the balcony doors have safety locks that are high enough to be out of reach of enquiring little fingers. If you are super concerned, you can always request a ground floor Villa to ease your mind.

Jacklyn, do you know about the Disability Access Service (DAS) and it's accompanying Card? Walt Disney World is committed to providing all of its guests, regardless of ability, with an excellent experience and the DAS Card helps to accomplish that. It is designed to make waiting for the attractions easier for guests with special needs. Please email disability.services@disneyparks.com or visit Guest Relations in any of the Parks to discuss your sons' needs.

    Asante Sana!
