I'm thrilled to hear that you'll be boarding the
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser this December! I was fortunate enough to voyage on the Halcyon starcruiser a few months ago and it was truly a memorable, out-of-this-world experience. Whether you're planning on training as a Jedi, joining the rebellion, or defending the dark side of the Force, you'll be able to become the main character in your own Star Wars story!
When you board the
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, you'll be given an exclusive
MagicBand to use on the ship! This will allow you to interact with your surroundings, moving your own Star Wars story forward, and was one of my favorite souvenirs to bring home. When speaking to a Cast Member, it sounds like this won't be a MagicBand+ model. If you would like to purchase a
MagicBand+, this should be fully functional both on the Halcyon starcruiser and on your excursion to Batuu! However, if you would prefer to use the MagicBand that you receive on board, I don't think you'll miss out on any excitement while in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. By using the
Play Disney Parks app on your datapad (also called a "phone" on your home planet of Earth), you'll be able to receive communications, accept challenges, and complete missions - both on the ship and on Batuu! Also, please remember that current offerings can sometimes shift and change in order to continue to surprise and delight Guests. I would recommend reaching out to your Galactic Starcruiser Specialist at (407) 939-1800 as your trip gets closer if you have more questions about using a MagicBand on the ship and as you
Prepare for Launch.
While you're getting ready for your upcoming voyage, I have a few more tips for you!
- Make sure that you bring a few accessories or articles of clothing that can help you stand out a little bit. This will set you apart and help Crew Members to easily identify you (which makes your experience much more personal, and much more fun!).
- If you'd like to make the most out of your own storyline, spend some of your extra time in the Atrium. You'll meet curious characters, have interesting conversations, and you might be asked to join in on a secret plot or two!
- Be sure to find opportunities to explore the ship, including the Sublight Lounge and the Climate Simulator. You can even ask a Crew Member for a tour!
- You're welcome to chase after your own Star Wars story and you don't have to wait for it to come to you. Just introducing yourself to a character or asking, "How can I help?" could open a whole new world of possibilities.
- This is your chance to become the hero you've always dreamed of... or indulge in your dark side. No judgment here! You will have a fun and thrilling experience, no matter which path you choose. And the other members in your travel party are welcome to choose their own path, as well!
