Hello Tracey!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so sorry that some of your group had to cancel their trip. Depending on the number of Guests involved, hopefully you should be able to keep some or all of the reservations.
If this family was staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and had booked a room or package, canceling their stay, as long as you are 170 days or less from check-in, should not automatically cancel
dining reservations. Having said that, I always like to be cautious, and I recommend calling over the phone to cancel and to make sure those Advance Dining Reservations remain intact.
If the number of Guests on the reservation hasn’t changed at all, the original Guest can simply list you as one of the other Guests on the reservation. As long as you give the name of the original Guest and the reservation number at check-in, you shouldn’t have any issues.
If the number of people on the reservation has changed, this is where you might need to make alterations to your plans. You wouldn’t want to show up for a reservation for 12 Guests with only 4 Guests. This prevents others from enjoying available seats in the restaurant and could possibly result in a cancellation charge for the missing Guests. I would start by seeing if you can make a new dining reservation for the smaller group at the same location at a similar time. This would be the simplest option, and then the original reservation could be canceled. If you are unable to secure a similar reservation, have the Guest who made the original reservation call Disney Dining at 1-407-WDW-DINE. They may be able to downsize your table or offer additional options or suggestions for you.
I hope this helps, and I hope you are able to keep your dining reservations. If you aren’t able to keep them all and need suggestions or ideas for alternate options, please let us know. We love talking Disney, and especially the
food at Disney!Sending pixie dust for perfect reservations!
