Ahoy, Katie! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your Disney Cruise Line questions ahead of time to ensure smooth sailing once you and your entire pirate crew are out at sea.
If you are cruising with another family, then the easiest way to plan together is by linking your reservations. Start by going to the
main Disney Cruise Line website and clicking on the tab at the top right labeled “Already Booked,” you can then click on the option labeled “My Reservations” under “My Disney Cruise.” That will open up a page that should show your upcoming cruise and a drop-down box on the right hand side that lists your reservation number. If you click on the reservation number, it should open up any other reservations that you currently have with Disney Cruise Line and a blue link that says “Add and Link Reservations.” Click on that link, which will open up a new page where you can add the other family’s reservation information. In order to link the reservation, you will need the other family’s booking confirmation number and the last name and date of birth for the primary individual who booked that stateroom. Although it probably isn’t a concern, be aware that connecting reservations does share all of the details, including balance and payment information.
As long as both families have the same dining time, then your linked reservations will indicate to the dining team that you should be seated together for
rotational dining. Once your reservations are linked, you will be able to see which dining time is assigned to both staterooms. By using the same “My Reservations” tab on the website, you can open each reservation separately and scroll down to find the assigned dining time in the white box labeled “Dining.” If both reservations have the same time, then you do not need to do anything else. However, if one has early seating and one has late seating, then you will need to switch to the same dining time to arrange seating together.
It looks like you will be sailing in early June, so the early seating time for dinner may already be full. If that is the case, then the online system will only allow you to switch both reservations to the late seating or to select the option to add the one stateroom with late seating to the waiting list for the early dining time. If you run into this problem, then I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line directly, so that they can make a note in your reservation that your entire party is trying to be assigned together for rotational dining. Once you step onboard on embarkation day, you can also check with
Guest Services if there are still any issues.
Rotational dining is definitely a highlight of the Disney Cruise Line experience, so I hope that helps you get everyone together for memorable meals at sea. If you have any other questions before you set sail, then we are always here to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
