Hey there, hi there, ho there, Elizabeth!
Welcome to planDisney! I'm excited to hEAR you're planning on visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth in the near future. There's so much to look forward to in 2022, like the 50th Anniversary Celebration and the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. There really is no better time to come "home" than now.
Thank you for asking this excellent question. Any seasoned Walt Disney World Resort Guest knows there's no tired like Disney tired, so getting a good night's rest is key to having an enjoyable trip. Thankfully, there are a plethora of accommodations available at the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels to let you be a sleeping beauty. I'm sorry to hear the villas you had your heart set on aren't available for the dates of your trip, Thankfully, I did find a few options that could work for your family member so they can rest safely on your vacation.
- Standard Rooms at select Deluxe Resort hotels: Deluxe Resorts have a wide variety of room configurations, and many of them include day beds or sleeper sofas. These options are available at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to name a few.
- Family Suites at select Value Resort hotels: While not a standard room, Family Suites are affordable and include a kitchenette, two bathrooms, and a sofa. They're available at Disney's Art of Animation Resort and Disney's All-Star Music Resort.
- The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort: You'll feel like you've escaped to the great outdoors here. You'll be surrounded by sweeping trees and picturesque grounds. Each cabin includes a refrigerator, microwave, sleeper sofa, and more.
I suggest you visit each Resort's webpage to get a clearer picture of what you can expect to find there. You'll be able to see the available room configurations, photos of the room types, the list of amenities for each room type, and more. Being able to see visuals of the rooms will help you even more when deciding where to book your accommodations.
Because standard room types vary in configuration, you want to assure your room will be one that has the sofa or chair option in it. I did not see a way to put in this room request when booking online (it only references nearby or connecting rooms and cribs), so I suggest you proceed with booking your resort reservation over the phone with a Guest Service Cast Member by calling 407-560-2428 to assure your family's needs are notated correctly. I'm confident they'll be able to arrange everything properly.
Elizabeth, I hope this information is helpful. Please stop back by planDisney if further questions arise. You can even reach out to me personally. Have a wonderful time making magical memories with your loved ones!
May all your wishes come true,
Alyssa
