Hi Sarah!
Your trip is coming up so soon, you must be getting excited! As the mother of four, and a night shift nurse, I totally understand the need for that morning cup of coffee. I have a few ideas to help ease any marital strain the coffee versus shopping debate may be causing! Please do keep in mind, that while you are welcome to request any area of the resort, there is never a guarantee that a room will be available for you in that area.
You are correct that Congress Park is the closest location to Downtown Disney. With the new pedestrian bridge, getting to Downtown Disney for shopping or dining is even easier than before. Your husband may like to know that last year a
Starbucks location was added to both the Downtown Disney Marketplace area as well as the Downtown Disney West Side. It would be an approximately 10 minute walk to get from Congress Park to the Downtown Disney Marketplace.
If your husband was looking to buy brewed coffee from the resort, it could be purchased one cup at a time, or in a Rapid Fill Mug at
The Artist’s Palette, the resort’s quick service location. This is actually closer to The Springs area of the resort, which you could request if you wanted to stay closer to his source of java. On our last stay, we found the walk between Congress Park and The Artist’s Palette to be 10-15 minutes.
Another idea would be to make coffee in the room. All villas at come equipped with a coffee maker. You could bring his favorite bean from home and coffee would never be far, no matter which area of Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will be your home next week.
Wishing you a delightful and caffeinated visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
