Hi! I am traveling to Disney World soon and have a question on the Disney Dining Plan that Disney recommends. My family is on a diet and we were wondering if we could substitude a dessert for a salad/appetizer instead. Thanks!

Hi Douglas! I like to think I can let the diet slide while I'm at Walt Disney World since I'm doing so much walking in the parks. (At least that's how I'm justifying eating so much during my visit to Disney this week!) The Disney Dining Plan gives you a lot of food for the money. You're generally not able to substitute an appetizer or salad course for the dessert included with the Dining Plan, but healthy options are available for dessert. Ask your server if you can have fresh fruit or something light for dessert, such as sorbet. (Or do as I do, and eat dessert because you're getting lots of exercise touring the parks!)

Have a magical vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're happy to help!
