I am traveling to Disney World in May with chronic fatigue and pain. Are there other places (besides the infirmary) that are free locations to sit in air conditioning (ie. not restaurants)? MK, Epcot, & Hollywood!

Welcome to planDisney, Jenna! You'll soon be entering the iconic gates of Walt Disney World Resort, so get ready to make some magical memories. As someone who calls Florida home, I can vouch that the Sunshine State is aptly named; sometimes, air conditioning is a necessity! Let's look at options for cooling down during your visit.

I recommend heading to some indoor attractions at Magic Kingdom Park when you need a break from the sun. Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress is a personal favorite because it harkens back to Walt Disney's earliest vision for his theme parks. And the seats are comfy, too! This attraction is about 20 minutes, so it's the perfect combination of resting and being entertained. Similar options include Mickey's PhilharMagic and The Hall of Presidents. The best news is that these attractions typically don't have long wait times.

Quick-service restaurants are excellent places to take a break. Grab a complimentary cup of cool water and take a load off at Cosmic Ray's Starlite Café, Columbia Harbour House, and more at Magic Kingdom Park.

One of my favorite indoor break spots is EPCOT's Sunshine Seasons food court. I love their plant-based Cookies 'n "Cream" Chocolate Mousse Cup, and there's typically padded bench seating available. Connections Café at this theme park can be a bit more crowded, but it has comfy seats and ottomans and provides great people-watching. And if you like the aroma of fresh Starbucks coffee, it's a dream! The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion has several benches where you can rest, and at the American Pavilion, grab a seat in The American Adventure lobby. You might catch the Voices of Liberty show!

Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you can't miss A Frozen Singalong Celebration. The show is hilarious, and the seats are so cozy. The Muppets in 3D is another good choice, and the ABC Commissary is my go-to for an indoor snack in the heat of the day.

I recommend a quick stop by Guest Relations when you first arrive at any theme park for their suggestions. Consider renting a scooter for the day; staying off your feet can make an amazing difference in stamina.

Jenna, I know you will make some memories to treasure on this trip. I've learned that slowing down and taking in the details at Disney makes for an even better visit. I hope you have a fabulous time! Please stop by PlanDisney again.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
