Hi Andrew,
We also have to navigate the theme parks with food allergies and I am happy to report that Disney World is one of the best places we have experienced for accommodating food allergies. The cast members and chefs take your allergies very seriously and will do whatever they can to make you some delicious and safe food.
The easiest way for me to navigate quick-service dining and snack locations is by using the
My Disney Experience app. Through the app, you can check each quick-service location to see if they have a section listed as "Allergy-Friendly" on their menu. You can also see the allergy-friendly options on the website menus for each restaurant. As you already know, allergies mean you need to do a little bit more preplanning, and luckily between the website menus and the app, you can get a good idea of where you can safely eat. I would not use the mobile ordering feature on the app while you are visiting because it only allows you to choose one allergy to note. Make sure you order in person at all quick-service locations. They will be able to note multiple allergies and ensure that your food is taken care of properly.
Our favorite location to grab an allergy-friendly quick-service meal at Magic Kingdom is
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. They have a lot of great options and this location is also a nice quiet place to take a break. On an adventure at Animal Kingdom, we love stopping at
Flame Tree Barbecue. They do a great job with food allergies and have a lot of options that are high in protein to pack some extra energy into your kiddo for a fun-filled day. We never miss a chance to eat at
Woody's Lunch Box. They have vegan cheese for grilled cheese sandwiches which are delicious!
Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT has a ton of allergy-friendly options and is a nice spot halfway around the World Showcase.
Snacks can be a little more difficult to find when you are navigating multiple allergies but not impossible. I recommend bringing a few snacks with you to make sure your kiddo doesn't get too hungry in between meals if you can't find anything. You always have the option to ask to see product packaging for prepackaged items like ice cream bars. The cast members are incredibly helpful and will let you look to see if you think it is safe.
Another great
resource for planning would be to email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. They can help provide guidance and are great at ensuring that you will be able to safely eat while on vacation!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
