We will be traveling to Disney in September of 2009 and want to know what hotel would work the best for us. We will have our 3 kids; 7, 4, and 2. What hotel would work best for our family? We do not want a value resort as we want slides.

    Hi Crystal,

Our family of five still has the "Which hotel should we stay at"  debate every trip. The first resort that comes to mind for you is the Beach Club or Yacht Club for a few reasons.

Both resorts have the advantage of being within walking distance to the back Epcot entrance located in the World Showcase. There is also a path to Hollywood Studios if you are up for a stroll, and if not, boats run to both Hollywood Studios and Epcot. With a younger child, we loved the ability to walk to some of the parks and not have to fold our stroller for the bus. The other parks are easily accessible by Disney buses.

Our family of five finds the hotel rooms spacious enough for our needs but if you are looking for extra room, both resorts are vacation club properties and therefore have villas that may be available with addional room and a kitchen.

The pool seems to be a main concern of yours and the Beach and Yacht Club share what many, including me, thinks is the best resort pool on WDW property. Stormalong Bay features white sand bottom pools, whirlpool, a lazy river, a sand area for loads of castle making, a children's area with small slides and the highlight is an exciting water slide which is found in a shipwrecked boat. The slide is long and partially enclosed—definitely the most a popular spot for my kids. The resorts are stretched along a beach front area with great spots for the kids to run and play.

There is a old fashioned ice cream parlor and arcade located adjacent to the pool and most nights the resorts hold movie nights down on the beach. You are within walking distance to the Boardwalk resort which features restaraunts, bars and nightly family entertainment.

    Good luck choosing
