Hey there, hi there, Sarah!
Welcome to planDisney! I’m elated you stopped by with your question for us.
I’m also totally giddy to see you’re heading down to The Most Magical Place on Earth so very soon, and I do hope you’re ready to try some of the most delectable Mickey-shaped treats! Like you, I’m a huge fan of Disney Gift Cards; I try to collect them throughout the yEAR, and they become my primary method of payment during my own magical vacations.
Sarah, you’re absolutely correct about combining the monetary value of your gift cards onto one card for up to $1000 using the
Disney Gift Card website! And although it is stored on the site, the site is not a payment method, so be sure to keep the cards that have value on them with you during your vacation, because you will have to use the physical card when you make payments.
One of the accidental benefits I’ve learned about storing the gift cards on the site is that if something were to happen to one of your cards, you could transfer the entire amount from that gift card to another Disney gift card from the website! —I once lost my main card and quickly purchased another Disney Gift Card, added it onto my account on the site, and transferred the remaining balance from the lost card to the new one! Phew! Crisis averted!
Even if you are not staying on property, you can use your Disney Gift Cards to purchase merchandise and
dining throughout the parks! I'm also happy to tell you that you’re able to also use your Disney Gift Card to pay for your
Mobile Food & Beverage Orders! Once you have picked your food items from the menu, you’re ready to review, confirm, and pay for your order; it is there you will see the option to “Add a Disney Gift Card.” As of now, only one Disney Gift Card can be used at a time for this, but you are able to use it in combination with an accepted credit or debit card, should you need to.
Have an enchanting visit, Sarah!
