We are traveling on Disney Magic at the end of Jan -2014 to Bahamas. How is the weather during that period of time? Is the ocean water be warm to swim in, especially for a 1.5-year-old toddler? Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Yannan! Wow, it's only a couple more months until you'll find yourself walking onto the Disney Magic as the Cast Members announce your family name and applaud your arrival! I bet you can't wait!

My family has cruised to the Bahamas and Caribbean with Disney Cruise Line in both January and February and have found the pools to be a nice temperature for swimming and the weather to be pretty warm! Now, we are coming from Ohio, so anything feels warm to us in January, and I see you're from Ontario, so this warm Bahamian weather will be pure heaven to you too! But, honestly, most of the time we've worn summer type outfits and the kids have enjoyed swimming in the pools and ocean. I'm always a chicken about getting into the water when it's cooler, but the kids never have a problem! And of course, when you're sitting on a warm beach, the cool water is certainly inviting! With highs in the mid to upper 70's and low 80's, I bet you'll have a wonderful trip! Just check the weather forecast the week before you set sail and you'll be all set!

Do pack some layers, like sweaters and light jackets though. I find that in the evenings onboard and on breezier sea days, I need a jacket or sweatshirt to keep me warm out on deck. In the ship, layers are always good too, as some spots are cooler than others. My husband and son are perfectly happy in their short sleeves and shorts, but my daughter and I like to have an extra layer!

I hope that helps as you count down these last few weeks before setting sail on the newly re-imagined Disney Magic! I can't wait to experience all the new enhancements on the Magic myself this January! Happy planning, Yannan!
