Hello! We are traveling to Disney in June, with my five year old niece - this will be her first trip. I was hoping you might have some suggestions regarding a fun way to tell her about the trip and to help prepare her for what to expect (FUN!). Thanks!

Hi Emily what a great Aunt you are!  I would have a princess/Disney scavenger hunt around the house.  You could start with a wand and tell her to use it while she searches for more clues.  The next item might be a tiara telling her that where she is going she too can be a princess.  Then perhaps a princess or Disney coloring book - tell her she can enjoy this while you all are traveling.  Then maybe a stuffed princess or Mickey Mouse with a note saying "Surprise!"  Then what a great treat to tell that princess she is headed to Walt Disney World.  With the last item I would also recommend a children's how to do Disney book.  I personally love Birnbaum's for Kids.  Even at 5 she will be able to look at the pictures and get excited about her trip.  Enjoy the surprise and especially your incredible vacation in June.  Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel with your great question.
