Traveling to Disney with husband and kids in 10/10. We chose the Fort Wilderness cabins but read in a review there are snakes at this hotel, can you tell me something about it...

    Hi Catalina,

I am not overly fond of snakes. In their cages they are ok I guess, but out running over my feet-no way. Now that being said, I can tell you that we stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins twice this year. We wandered the resort paths even late into the night and played out by our cabin on a number of occasions. I did not see one snake during any of our stays. It is quite wooded around the cabins and can get dark in the evenings so my guess would be that there are snakes around somewhere, but given the mass amounts of plants, trees, lakes, ponds and undeveloped areas surrounding all of the Disney resorts, my best guess would be that there are most likely a few snakes throughout Disney property. Let me reassure you that in all of our numerous trips, I have not seen or heard of one snake popping in for a visit.

The little I know of snakes, leads me to believe that they tend to stay away from areas with people, noise and activity, therefore I think as long as you are not venturing into areas of wilderness not meant for the Disney guests, you should be just fine.

Enjoy Fort Wilderness. It is a beautiful resort area with so much to offer. Be sure to take a carriage or golf cart ride around the campgrounds during your stay to see the fantastic Halloween decorations and displays.
