We are traveling to Disney Feb 3-10 with a 6yr old and 4yr old. What parks should we visit first and how many days in each? We would like to see WDW, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and DHS.

    Kathy,

I generally recommend that a family allows two days each for Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and one day each for Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.  Six days will allow you to see and experience most of the major attractions in each theme park.

Don't plan on seeing it all!  It's really not possible no matter how long you stay.  We usually take 12 day vacations and stay in the parks from open to close, and still leave feeling like there were a lot of things we missed.  (Which is part of Disney's attraction for us - there is always something new!)

I've heard two schools of thought on the 'which park to visit first' issue.  One is that the Magic Kingdom is best for little ones, so you should go there first.  The other is that the Magic Kingdom is best for little ones, so if you visit there first then the other parks won't live up to it in their minds.  However, my daughters are close in age to your children, and we vary which park we visit first based on schedules.  The four parks are all so different and each has something unique and fun to offer, they love being in all of them.

At this point, if you haven't already made your dining reservations then I strongly suggest you do so right away.  I like to look at the calendar page on the Disney site and make note of park hours, EMH, parade and show times, etc and then plan out which park to visit on what day from that.  From that I make our dining reservations based on where we will be each day.

Good luck planning, and have a wonderful vacation!
