We are traveling on the DIsney Fantasy in September and I'm trying to find the best way to purchase any photos taken onboard. Should we purchase a package through or wait and purchase a package onboard? Do you know the onboard prices?

Welcome aboard, Jamie! It's not too long now until your family will be walking onto the Disney Fantasy, as the Cast Members announce your arrival and applaud to welcome you onboard! What a great way to begin your vacation!

Guests can pre-purchase photo packages through My Cruise, or simply wait until being onboard to see how many pictures you'd really like to have. My family has done it both ways. We pre-purchased a complete photo cd, so we received all of our cruise photos. Doing this ahead of time and knowing we'd get all the photos allowed us to take advantage of many more photo opportunities throughout the cruise than we would have otherwise. We knew it wouldn't cost any more to take a lot more pictures, so we went for every photo we could. Alternately, we've cruised more often by simply not pre-purchasing and instead just checking out our pictures at Shutters throughout the week to see which we liked. If it made sense, we'd buy one or two prints or a photo package of a larger number.

If you think your family will take advantage of lots of character pictures and other family shots each day, then go for the package, especially if this is your first Disney cruise! The cost of the entire photo cd with all of your pictures from your seven night sailing is currently $349. There are also smaller photo packages of 10 photos for $149 or 20 photos for $249. Should you decide on just a few individual prints, they are currently available for $12.95 for a 6x8 photo or $19.95 for an 8x10 photo. The Fantasy also offers digital photo books with some really cute Disney Cruise Line designs for around $149, so check those out onboard too! Stop by Shutters onboard where you can find out even more about the photo add on's of additional prints with your photo package.

Have fun during these last few weeks before you set sail, Jamie! Enjoy your cruise!
