WE are traveling to Disney with a family of 5. Which hotels offer standard rooms that accommodate 5 (not suites)?

    Hi, Deborah!

Thanks for visiting us again here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel. If you're looking for a standard room that can accommodate up to 5 guests comfortably, I recommend the following Disney Deluxe Resorts: Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Animal Kingdom Lodge. These resorts offer standard rooms equipped with two queen-sized beds and a day bed. However, you'll want to keep in mind that when the day bed is folded down, the room may feel a bit cramped and it will be difficult to access the balcony or patio easily. Your best bet, in my opinion, is the Grand Floridian or Polynesian, which feature the largest standard rooms of the Disney resort hotels (measuring 440 sq ft and 415 sq ft, respectively). My family's pick would be the Polynesian - we love the relaxing tropical vibe and awesome location!

Depending on the ages of your children, you also have the option of one of Disney's Moderate Resorts. If you're traveling with an infant or toddler (under age 3), Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach have standard rooms measuring 314 square feet that can accommodate 4 guests plus one child under age 3 in a crib. Also, rooms in the Alligator Bayou section at Port Orleans Riverside feature two queen beds and a pull-down Murphy bed. This may be a good choice for your family, but again it depends on the ages (and sizes) of your children. The Murphy bed is approximately 63" x 30" and can comfortably fit a tween or young teen who under 5' 3" tall. My recommendation would be Port Orleans Riverside in the Moderate resort category. With its lush landscaping and many recreational amenities, Riverside feels like a Deluxe resort, but at Moderate prices!

Wishing you a magical vacation, Deborah! Please send more questions as you continue to plan your trip. I'd be happy to help you further!
