    We are traveling on our 1st Disney Cruise June 2013 on the Fantasy. I've heard a little about "fishing?" where you can register to be linked with another family traveling on the same cruise to exchange small gifts? Where can I find more info o

    Welcome aboard, Renee! Congratulations on booking your very first cruise aboard a Disney ship! You certainly will enjoy the Disney Fantasy!

    The gift exchange you are referring to is the Fish Extender exchange. This is not sponsored or organized by Disney Cruise Line, but by guests who meet ahead of time on online forums and decide to exchange gifts throughout the cruise. Typically, they hang a set of fabric pockets from the little fish clip that is outside each stateroom door, thus the "fish" extender. 

    My family loves to participate in these exchanges, and usually meets others on the Disboards or other Disney fan forums online. Do a google search to find a Fish Extender exchange group. The Disboards usually sorts them out by particular sail date, so once you find your meet up group under your sail date and ship, many times, you'll chat with those folks and find that someone suggests starting a Fish Extender exchange. Since you sail in June, I bet one is already underway for your group. I hope you are able to join up and get in on the fun! Each group sets their own rules and expectations, so find yours and get started!
