We will be traveling with a diabetic member this spring. Is there a dedicated sugar free menu or sources other than specific menus that would give us easy access to selecting restaurants with dessert options for our guest-it's his first visit.

Hi there, Cynthia! I love questions about Disney food - it's one of my most favorite things about visiting Walt Disney World.

When it comes to Disney's table service dining locations, you will usually find that they offer at least one sugar free dessert option. If you don't see something on the menu, you can always ask. I find that there's usually a sugar free ice cream or a type of cake or mousse. I've also had chefs prepare a fresh fruit option when it was available, and I know for me, that's sometimes a better option for my blood sugar than a sugar free dessert.

You will also find sugar free options at some of the shops and kiosks. There are sugar free candies, ice cream options, and other snacks that are diabetic friendly. I hope you are pleasantly surprised at how many things will be available for your diabetic travel buddy.

As always, with any food issues, you can contact Disney Special Dietary Requests to see how they can accommodate a sugar free friend. They can often have a member of the culinary team speak with you at a restaurant and offer options that are safe.

Wishing you the most fun and the most fabulous food finds!
