Hi Craig! Welcome to planDisney!
You and your family must be SO excited about your upcoming trip! I have a little one with a birthday that day so we've been counting down, just like I bet you are! There is simply nothing better than seeing those little ones' eyes light up when they see
Cinderella Castle for the first (or 50th) time!
Disney's Pop Century Resort is such a perfect Resort to stay in with your grandchildren! They're just going to be dazzled by the bright colors, gigantic toys and character statues, and the incredible pool! To me, Resorts like Pop Century and
Disney's Art of Animation Resort just really embody what a little kid thinks a perfect Disney Resort should be like. I know my kids would choose these over the grand elegance of some Deluxe Resorts any day. I especially love that Pop Century is now connected to the
Disney Skyliner! Now you and your family can easily hop aboard your very own gondola and be whisked off to other Resorts or Theme Parks such as
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios. It's like a cherry on top of an already delicious DOLE Whip!
I love bringing my parents on our
Walt Disney World Resort vacations, not only because they love to be a part of some of my kids' most magical memories, but also because they are such a big help! We often request adjoining rooms so that we still have a place to relax and talk even after the little ones are sleeping soundly. To request adjoining rooms, you can speak to a friendly Cast Member at the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line at (407) 939-1936. With your confirmation number, they'll be able to pull up your reservation and add your request to its notes. While not all requests are guaranteed, Cast Members will do their best to accommodate you and your family.
You can also make this request during the
Online Check-In process. Since you are already within your 60-day arrival window you may have already done this, but during this process, there is a section titled "Room Requests." Here, you can add requests such as which floor you would enjoy being on and the fact that you would like to ask for adjoining rooms. I would stop by the Front Desk at check-in and just politely ask if your request has been made!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful and memorable trip, Craig! Enjoy!
