Hi, We are traveling from Australia for a Fantasy cruise on 1 Nov for 7 days with our 11yo girl. We know she is the right age for edge and Oceaneer lab. Is it true she can not participate in both clubs but must select only one? Why? Is this a firm rule?

Welcome aboard, Jeremy! This fall will be such a wonderful time for your family to come to the United States and set out on a magical cruise with Disney!

Your daughter is at the perfect age to enjoy so much on the Fantasy. You are right, that at her age, she is able to join in on the fun in the tween club, Edge for 11-14 year-olds, but also in the age range for the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, which is for ages 3-12. I know that many that age have gone back and forth between these three clubs with no problem. What you may have heard about choosing one or the other might actually be that you do have to register her for the Oceaneer Club and Lab, but not for Edge. This can be done during your online check-in process, which begins 75 days prior to setting sail for first time cruisers. Once at the port, you'll pick up an Oceaneer Band, which she'll wear that will allow her to enter and exit the Club and Lab. You are able to give permission for her, at her age, to check herself in and out of the Club and Lab if you'd like. If so, let the counselors know during Open House that first day. Tweens in Edge are able to check themselves in and out, no parent required.

The best thing for her to do is check out the Personal Navigator each day. She can view the activities in both spots and decide which she'd prefer then head there. I do highly recommend that if she plans to spend time in Edge, that she go there the first night for the "get-to-know-you" activities and icebreaker games so that she meets others that first night.

Have fun planning this amazing vacation, Jeremy! Stop back if you have other questions before you set sail!
