Hey there, Jason! Welcome, and thank you for sailing by with your question. We're happy to help!
Disney Cruise Line has sort of an either/or requirement if you are sailing on a closed-loop cruise from a United States port. And even if there is an option to travel with just your birth certificate and photo ID, a
passport is always recommended.
If you are traveling with your passport, that is the only
required documentation to prove citizenship. The passport has to be valid, meaning it hasn't expired yet, and for entry to some countries, it has to be valid for longer than six months at the time of travel. That means your passport has to expire more than six months after your trip.
With all of the amazing itineraries available on
Disney Cruise ships, just in case you are traveling outside of the United States, you'll want to also be aware of any other requirements from the
ports you'll be visiting in other countries. Check the
Know Before You Go section of the website to get some of the additional information you'll need to travel to places like Europe or Australia.
I wish you a very happy voyage, Jason!
Anna
