Hi Liza,
My favorite way to travel around Walt Disney World Resort is on the various forms of complimentary boat transportation. It's like we never know what type of sailing experience we will have. Will our Captain sing to us? (I love these sing-a-long experiences!) Will we be inside for the Ferry Boat to Magic Kingdom Park? Will we be able to hear "Old Glory" billowing in the breeze off the stern of a FriendShip from the single outdoor bench seat? (My favorite!) I love it all.
So you are in for a treat as you experience quite a bit of boat transportation all around
Disney Springs and her connected Resort hotels. I am excited to tell you that none of the Resort hotels on these lines are directly connected without a stop at Disney Springs because that is great news! Think of the journeys!
You will sail on the Sassagoula River Cruise to and from
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and
French Quarter to the Disney Springs Marketplace Dock. This is known as the "Yellow Route."
Climb aboard the D.V.C Ferry between
Disney's Old Key West Resort and The Landing at Disney Springs on the Green Route. The Blue Route of the D.V.C Ferry also sails from The Landing, but heads to
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.
Tip: if you have had enough of the tranquil waters for the day, the walking path between Disney Springs and Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is located just steps beyond the boat dock at the Landing. Feel free to make the journey on foot for a scenic and peaceful stroll along wide, water-front sidewalks. It's also lovely!
Finally, the Disney Springs Water Taxi, known as The Red Route, helps Guests get off their feet and make the journey from The Westside, Marketplace, and Landing docks.
Liza, I hope that you are exploring all of these Disney Resort hotels so that you can taste something amazing at each. Here are my recommendations:
1. Of course I will recommend the
Beignets at Scat Cat's Club Cafe at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter.
2. The Carrot-Filled Agnolotti at
The Turf Club Bar & Grill at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa has a funny name but is a seriously delicious entree. It leaves you feeling satisfied but not overly full. I think about this one pretty often. I recommend it highly!
3. Finally, head on over to
Gurgling Suitcase to end your journey with a Sunset Margarita at this poolside fan-favorite bar.
Don't be shy, Liza! Please let us know how else we can help as you plan the practically perfect Walt Disney World Vacation.
Adventure is out there,
Sally
