Hi Erika!
Your trip is right around the corner, so let's get to it! Every time we visit Disney World, our fitness apps applaud! But happy fitness apps equal tired legs, so I understand the need for on-the-go rest spots.
I double-checked
Walt Disney World Property Rules, and folding chairs are on the list of prohibited items. A travel barstool is in the same category as a folding chair, so unfortunately, it won't make it past security at the parks. But! You have other options for respite during your stay. You can
rent an ECV or wheelchair at any of the four theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. If you do that, you can rest on the go!
If you don't want to use an ECV or wheelchair, let me tell you about some
great rest areas. First,
First Aid Centers are always available for you to rest, and we like to take breaks in the Quick Service Dining areas (during non-peak times), as they are plentiful and strategically located. Besides that, here are a few suggestions:
Magic Kingdom:▸ Adventureland - the area by the Pirates of the Caribbean restrooms.
▸ Liberty Square - duck behind
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe or head next to the Hall of Presidents.
▸ Tomorrowland - the area outside TRON.
EPCOT:▸ World Showcase - our favorite areas are in China by the Temple of Heaven, in the
American Pavilion right by Regal Smokehouse (head further back and to the right of the pavilion), and the gardens in Japan and the UK.
Animal Kingdom:▸ Pandora - Nomad Lounge and the area between
Satu’li Canteen and the restrooms.
Hollywood Studios:▸ Sunset Blvd - the area right outside the Tower of Terror is usually shaded and pretty empty. There are also benches right inside the exit by the shop.
▸ Echo Lake - tables with umbrellas are right by the dinosaur.
▸ Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - the areas flanking Millennium Falcon.
Erika, you can find all of these spots on the map in your
My Disney experience app. Feel free to come back if you need any other recommendations for fun places to rest (the
Tiki Room,
Carousel of Progress,
Reflections of China, and
Living with the Land)!
