My travel agent included "gratuities" in the cost of our cruise. But, I've read that if you order room service, you should tip because they don't get part of the gratuities paid for in the trip. How much do I tip?

Welcome aboard, Donna! It sounds like you're planning your very first adventure at sea with Disney Cruise Line! There is so much magic in store from the moment you book the cruise until it's time to wave goodbye to the Captain Mickey and his crew to head home. I can't wait for you to experience all!

One thing that we truly notice and enjoy when we sail is the exceptional service that is provided by the Cast Members all over the ship! We've sailed with other cruise lines prior to discovering Disney, and let me tell you, there is no comparison! Disney is not to be topped in terms of service and experience! My kids adore getting to know our dining service team, and since they rotate with us through each restaurant, we have the same servers each night and the chance to really get to know them, and they get to know us and our preferences. It's so unique!

The traditional gratuities for your Dining Service Team and your Stateroom Host can be pre-paid, which is what you've done through your travel agent, it sounds like. But, as you mentioned, if you order from the complimentary room service menu, you'll want to have some cash on hand to tip the Cast Members who deliver that. My family will tip a few dollars each time they deliver, or more if they bring a large order. Most of the time, we order quick snacks, like Mickey Bars or cookies and milk for the kids before bed, so a few dollars is a nice gesture when those are delivered.

Have fun planning this exciting cruise adventure, Donna, and please stop back with questions as you continue to count down to the big sail date! We are happy to help!
