Hi, Mari! Welcome back to planDisney! I’m sure you’re getting excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World trip, and I’m happy to help you understand all your transportation options around the resort.
Multiple transportation options from Wildness Lodge accommodate ECVs and other mobility devices. One fun option is the
water taxi that connects the hotel to the Magic Kingdom. The boats run in 15 to 30-minute intervals, and you can find the loading dock behind the resort. My family stayed at Wilderness Lodge on our last trip and we took the water taxi every chance we got. It can be a little longer journey than the buses, but we found it more relaxing.
Another transportation option available not just at Wilderness Lodge, but anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort, is the
accessible Minnie Van service through Lyft. Using the Lyft app, you can request an accessible Minnie Van that includes:
- Seating for 5 people
- One complimentary car seat (which can be used by one of the 5 passengers)
-2 spaces for mobility devices (Guests may remain in their mobility devices for the duration of the ride)
You can find directions for how to book an accessible Minnie Van and additional information
here.
Whether you are staying at Wilderness Lodge or just stopping by to soak up the majestic surroundings, you’re in for a wonderful time. Sitting by the lobby fireplace or looking out over the water at
Geyser Point is the calming break I need after a day in the parks. If you are staying at the resort, one of my favorite Wilderness Lodge tips is to take advantage of the
Boulder Ridge Cove pool. It’s a little more low-key than the higher-energy Cooper Creek Springs pool, which might be the vibe you’re looking for.
I hope this helps with your trip planning, Mari! Come on back to planDisney if you have any more questions about your upcoming vacation. All of us at planDisney are here to help!
Magical travels!
Matt
