Hello! Is there transportation once you book a Disney cruise (through Disney cruise), from any of the FL airports to either Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale please? Thanks!

    Ahoy, Sarah!

Thanks for sailing by planDisney with a great question about additional details for your Disney Cruise Line vacation. There’s just nothing like these special cruise vacations and knowing we can arrange ground transportation to the port helps my family slip into “vacation mode” as soon as we arrive to our destination! I’m happy to share these details with you of what’s possible.

Yes, you may reserve ground transportation from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Port Canaveral, Florida with your Disney Cruise Line reservation. This service is also available for cruises out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Port Everglades) from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) or the Miami International Airport (MIA). You’re correct in that this personalized service is only available when associated with a Disney Cruise Line reservation; it’s available for a per-person fee and is not a routine shuttle but rather a scheduled departure.

You will be prompted to select ground transportation if needed when finalizing your Disney Cruise Line reservation online, and asked over the phone if you secure your reservation by speaking with a friendly crew member. You may skip this step and add it later if you’d like to first finalize flights and other logistics of your vacation prior to confirming the need for ground transportation. You may add it on the Disney Cruise Line website once logged into your reservation, on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App from home, or by calling Disney Cruise Line prior to your sailing.

You can also arrange a pre- (or post-) departure hotel stay if needed, Sarah. There are partner hotels near each departure port which may also offer ground transportation options to the port. You'll find specific partner hotels near the bottom of each departure port's page, such as Fort Lauderdale. My family has done a variety of hotel stays and ground transportation from either those hotels or the airport, and it’s always been a wonderful experience. When coming into Orlando, we’ve enjoyed the convenience of the Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport the night prior to sailing out of Port Canaveral; it’s located inside the terminal with easy luggage service and transportation just a few steps away in the morning. In other ports, we’ve enjoyed the friendly greeting from Disney Cruise Line team members at baggage claim with clear directions for our luggage and an escort to the transportation service upon arrival to an airport.

I hope this helps you narrow down some ideas for your next cruise, knowing the transportation and logistics can be taken care of! We love to leave the driving to Disney and have great peace of mind as we settle in for our amazing vacation.

Please let us know what other questions you have as you plan this special trip.

    Wishing you a magical cruise,
    Amy
