Welcome aboard, Agnes! My family has the same Christmas tradition! Everyone opens up an early gift on Christmas Eve containing matching Christmas pajamas! I love that your family delights in this same tradition! Did you see the
Disney Christmas pjs at Disneystore.com? Lots of fun options for your grandkids!
You will not have to forgo that tradition when you set sail with Disney Cruise Line for your
Very Merrytime cruise. I can't think of a better way to keep your traditions alive than to continue them even at sea! There will be lots of spots for photos, but picture all of your grandkids in their matching pjs by the larger than life Christmas tree in the atrium lobby of the ship! That is going to be one special memory! There are photographers in the atrium each night to take guest photos. Don't worry if it's formal night, you can certainly pop down in pjs at some point for the photo. I just wouldn't suggest wearing them to dinner! The photographers will take professional shots of your family by the tree that you can later view in Shutters, the photography shop onboard, and decide if you'd like to purchase. You're also welcome to bring your own camera and snap away!
Besides the atrium's Christmas tree, there will be a life-size gingerbread house nearby and of course photographers are right there to snap photos with guests and their favorite Disney characters who will be out in their own Christmas attire. I don't think I've ever seen Mickey wearing Christmas pajamas, but he sure does look handsome in his Christmas sweater!
One last suggestion would be to stop out to the walking track on Deck 4, perhaps on Christmas morning, or at least early enough of Christmas Eve that you'll still have light. That deck makes for some beautiful photos! Have a great cruise, Agnes!
