trading pins- What is the best way of carrying/displaying them to trade. And what advice do you have for my 5 year old. Who to trade with?

    Hi Anna,

My family has quickly caught onto the Disney pin trading fever. My three boys have been collecting for a number of years now and love the challenge of looking for that one pin to complete a collection or that hard to find treasure.

My three enjoy displaying their pins on a lanyard, which they proudly wear throughout the day. The lanyards, which can be purchased at most Disney gift shops and pin trading locations, can become quite heavy though so we usually keep a minimal amount displayed at a time and carry extras to trade with in a small resealable container or bag. Disney also sells at it pin trading locations really great satchels which can display a number of pins and is easier to carry than the lanyard. My oldest enjoys displaying his pins in this matter but again the bag can be cumbersome and hot on a summer day. Another great option is to display pins on a visor or hat, or a vest, just be sure to properly secure them so they do not get lost. We tend to keep a number of lanyards for each boy and they enjoy rotating which one they are wearing or which collection they are trading for or displaying.

Your child is free to trade with any Disney Cast member that has pins. Just remember you are allowed two trades per Cast member per day. The trading process is very easy, your child simply needs to ask the Cast member to see his pin collection and if a trade is wanted, select a pin from the child's collection and ask the Cast member if a trade can be made. Remind your child that he does not have to trade if he does not see a pin he likes. Even if a trade is not made, this is a great way for the kids to interact with the Cast Member and practice good communication and cooperation skills.

    Happy trading!
