Aloha Stephanie!
Thank you for bringing your question to the
planDisney Ohana!
Ah, the
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto tiki mugs are tremendously popular! The mugs are meant to represent tiki totems found throughout the South Seas. Tiki totems are typically carved with symbols and images that are designed to scare away evil spirits, so you can say that the tiki mugs are both beautiful and useful!
There are a variety of tiki mugs, with accompanying drinks, for sale at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. When you review the
menu, you will see delicious specialty cocktails, such as the Polynesian Pearl, The Uh-Oa Bowl, and the Nautilus (just to name a few). There are options to either buy just the drink or the drink in the souvenir mug. If you select the option with the souvenir tiki mug, it is yours to keep. While you can purchase the drink without the mug, there isn't currently an option to purchase the mug without the corresponding drink. However, I'm sure you could place an order and simply ask the Cast Member not to make the drink, although it would still be the same price.
While you are at
Disney's Polynesian Resort, consider walking out to the beach at night to watch the
Electrical Water Pageant float by across the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Magically,
Stacy
