Ahoy there, Linda!
I'm glad you stopped by planDisney with your question. All of us here at planDisney love chatting about Disney vacations of all kinds! I'm particularly excited to share more about a Disney Cruise Line vacation whenever you are ready to set sail. But first, let's talk about your
Disneyland Resort theme park ticket.
Disneyland tickets, and associated features, are nonrefundable, nontransferable, and may not be redeemed for cash. Also, while Disney Cruise Line and Disneyland Resort are part of Disney Experiences, they are separate entities regarding reservations and terms and conditions. So, it is not possible to "trade up" your Disneyland Park ticket toward a Disney Cruise Line vacation. If you have a Disneyland Park ticket you are unable to use, I recommend
calling to speak with a Disneyland Cast Member about your options since, unless otherwise stated, you can apply the amount paid for any wholly unused theme park ticket toward the purchase of a new ticket so long as the new ticket price is equal to or greater than the amount paid for the original ticket.
If you have your heart set on a Disney Cruise (and who doesn't?!), I recommend checking the
Special Offers page to see if any savings apply to you. Additionally, Disney Cruise Line offers
flexible payment options so you can pay at your own pace for most itineraries and bookings. You can even hold a booking for up to three days with no deposit or penalty if you are still trying to decide on your vacation plans.
Linda, I know this isn't the information you were hoping for but I hope this helps as you make your vacation planning decisions. Visit us at planDisney with other questions you have; we are happy to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
