Hey there Scott, it's great to see you back here at planDisney!
It looks like you're visiting Walt Disney World Resort right from here in Florida, and you must've purchased something special to have it shipped directly home from
Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park! Whether it's a special piece of handcrafted artwork from
Mombasa Marketplace, or a very unique otherworldly
Windtraders souvenir from
your travels on Pandora, here are some helpful tips right from the Cast Members along with some of my personal observations when shipping from the theme parks:
- Firstly, it's very important that you hang onto any receipts that you have received (I make a habit of taking a photo of these just in case I lose them) as you'll need this to refer to whenever you speak with any Cast Members. Depending on when you shipped out your items, you'll want to reach out to the Guest Services team directly over the phone and provide any useful information that they'll need from the receipt. I've personally had a bit more luck calling or emailing to one of the dedicated Cast Member teams specifically tasked with purchases made from within the theme parks, though you may experience a bit of a wait either way depending on when you call.
- Many guests notice that they were unable to track the shipment with the number(s) found on their receipts, and these are often just used by Cast Members internally. In my experience our items were shipped through UPS and we were provided tracking information via the helpful Guest Services representative; while policies may be subject to change in the future without prior notice, this is where most guests are currently able to get help tracking down their merchandise before it reaches them.
Don't hesitate to reach out to Guest Services again if you require any additional assistance after receiving your shipment - I've personally found that the packaging can vary depending on the location and the Cast Members handling these on that day and you may be eligible for a replacement if anything may have been damaged en route to your address. Here's hoping that you won't need to though, and that everything arrives just as perfectly as the last time you saw them when you were here!
You might be interested to find out that there's a new
Guest Shipping Station located at Disney Springs, and while the pricing does currently appear to be higher for this service I'm curious to test out the speed, reliability and trackability for myself. In the meantime, we look forward to seeing more of your questions here at planDisney again soon and hope this was useful to you Scott as you await your package!
Just don't take a note from Yzma's book and smash it with a hammer when it gets there!
