    Touring AK 1 day in Oct. with reservations at Yak & Yeti for lunch OR Boma (5:45)for dinner. I doubt my kids will last all day to leave from AK to Boma. Would it be a pain to leave AK mid-day back to POP then back out for res. at Boma? Which res. to ke

    Hi Becky! This is a tough decision! The buffet at Boma is filled with unique and tasty dishes, but I'll be frank and tell you that getting there from another resort hotel can be a bit of a pain using Disney transportation. From the Pop Century Resort, you'll need to take the bus to Blizzard Beach or the Animal Kingdom park and then transfer to an Animal Kingdom Lodge bus. The trip could take up to an hour once you factor in the time you spend waiting for the buses to arrive. You always have the option of taking a cab directly from the Pop Century to the Animal Kingdom Lodge; the trip would take about 20 minutes.

    My family really enjoys the food at the Yak & Yeti, and we've always found the servers there to be super-friendly. My husband is a bit of a picky eater and he prefers sit-down meals to buffets, so if I were making this decision for my family, I'd choose lunch at Yak & Yeti. We tend to get to the parks early in the morning and have our big sit-down meal at lunch so that we can spend the afternoon enjoying the pool at our resort. However, if your family likes to try new foods and you don't mind spending a little time (or a little money on a cab ride) to get to Boma, you would probably enjoy dining there. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a beautiful resort to explore, so if you decide on Boma, be sure to walk out to the savanna viewing areas after dinner to see the animals.
