We just took our very 1st Disney Cruise on the Dream and was so impressed I already booked another for 2015 on the Magic over Thanksgiving! We were looking for advice on the best port adventures for a 10 & 6 yr old. Or best use of time/"must see&q

Welcome back from your first cruise with Captain Mickey, Rhonda! I'm so glad your family had such fun that you've already booked your next sailing with Disney!

I checked out the dates for Thanksgiving next year and it looks like you must be sailing on the Disney Magic's four-night Bahamian cruise that has ports of call at Castaway Cay and Nassau. Those are both great ports! In fact, Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places in the whole world! You understand, I'm sure, since you were just there yourself!

In Nassau, our family's favorite adventure is the Blue Lagoon Island Dolphin Swim. Your kids are both old enough to enjoy the swim, versus the "encounter". I highly recommend this adventure! My daughter loves dolphins so this was such an experience for us! We spent quite a good amount of time in the water with these beautiful creatures, in a very small group, (we only had four including the two of us in our group), where we could interact with the dolphins, swim with them, give them a kiss, receive a special "gift" of a rock that they picked off the bottom for us, and of course get the thrilling push by two dolphins across the entire length of the lagoon area. We would do this again over and over! Plus, what we liked about this specific dolphin swim was that since we booked the earliest swim of the day, we had the whole rest of the day to explore and enjoy Blue Lagoon Island and the fun activities and relaxing spots on the beach.

On Castaway Cay, Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure is a wonderful one, where guests get to interact with stingrays right off the beach of Castaway Cay. My kids both had chances to swim with and feed stingrays when we've cruised and they've been memorable experiences, and we've learned quite a bit about these amazing creatures. You'll have the rest of the day after this experience to enjoy more fun on Castaway Cay!

I hope those suggestions help as you plan, Rhonda!
