Tonight I was so excited to get a dining reservation for be our guest (740) Quickly cancelled our other plans, and confirmed! Then, read the fine print "must have valid MVMCP ticket to stay in park past 7pm" yikes! Could we just stay in the rest

Hi, Cheryl.  I totally feel your pain.  I have done this exact same thing once, not even thinking about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party dates.  I was just so excited to see an opening for Be Our Guest.

The Magic Kingdom will close to regular day guests at 7:00 PM on the days they have Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in the evening.  Guests without tickets to the party are more or less ushered out of the theme park.  If you are already inside a restaurant, finishing a meal, you won't be asked to leave in the middle of your meal, but you will be ushered out at the end of your dinner.

With Be Our Guest, you are not actually taken into the restaurant until your table is ready, so you won't be able to arrive prior to 7 o'clock and wait inside the restaurant.  Guests of this restaurant queue up outside, then are called in as their table becomes available.  Since you won't have the band given to party guests, you will be ushered out with other day guests.  I'm not even sure, if you make it through to the actual front of the line to wait for your reservation without being noticed for not having the party wristband, the restaurant will be allowed to seat you, as you are in the park without the party ticket.

I'm afraid you won't be able to keep the reservation without the ticket for the party.  And I do know how disappointing this is.

I hope your other reservation choice is still available, and I hope this doesn't put too much of a damper on your visit.
