    Welcome to planDisney, Ariana!

The news about Magic Key Pass sales resuming has definitely stirred up some excitement, and I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. I’m here to help you unlock the magic!

You won’t need a California state ID to activate a Magic Key unless one of two specific situations applies. First, if you plan to use a monthly payment plan, you’ll need to provide proof that you're a California resident living in ZIP codes 90000–96199. Second, if you're purchasing the Imagine Key (which is exclusively for Southern California residents), you'll need to show proof of residency within ZIP codes 90000–93599. Outside of those cases, you're good to go without a state ID!

If you do decide to join the Magic Key family, you’ll gain access to some truly magical perks. For example, select popcorn carts around the Disneyland Resort are currently offering a Disneyland 70th Celebration Magic Key Insulated Cooler Bag. My wife picked one up during our last visit, and it was perfect for stashing drinks and snacks throughout the day. Plus, Magic Key holders can enjoy exclusive 70th anniversary merchandise. Each piece is perfect for commemorating this historic milestone. And don’t forget the dining and merchandise discounts available year-round, which vary depending on your Magic Key tier. It's one of those perks you’ll appreciate again and again.

Since you mentioned the 70th Anniversary, I also have to recommend the evening entertainment.. Wondrous Journeys is a breathtaking tribute to 100 years of Disney Animation, and it's packed with heart, nostalgia, and fireworks that are sure to make you misty-eyed. And the return of the Paint the Night parade is just the cherry on top! I had the chance to attend the reopening night on May 16, and hearing the crowd sing “When Can We Do This Again?” as the glowing floats shimmered down the parade route gave me chills. It was a magical moment I’ll never forget, and I hope you get to experience it, too.

I hope this information helps as you make your plans, Ariana! If you have any more questions, please stop by and visit us again at planDisney.

    Wishing you a magical day,
    David
