Lightning Lane Passes are a fantastic option that we always select while visiting the parks. We like spending less time in queues with our kids and more time focused on the magic of the parks and being together! I think it's a great idea to add this option to your ticket. Currently, you can add at the
time of purchase, upgrade in the app, or add after you enter the parks, subject to availability. I'm happy to walk you through these methods!
If you'd like to wait to add Lightning Lane after you enter the parks, you can do so on the
Disneyland mobile app. Prices are subject to change, and availability may be limited. However, I've added Lightning Lane after entering many times and never experienced an issue. You can use any major credit, debit, or
Disney Gift Card to pay. I ask for Disney Gift Cards for holidays and then pay for our Lightning Lane Passes on the app with the gift cards I've collected. It's super convenient!
The option to upgrade in the app might only appear on certain tickets, such as one-day tickets. Access your tickets in the app to see if this option is available to you. Tap "Change ticket" and select the tickets you'd like to upgrade. Under add-ons, select Lightning Lane Multi Pass. It might be impossible to perform this upgrade on multi-day tickets.
Alternatively, you can call the
Tickets phone line to speak with a friendly Cast Member. They are always happy to help anyway they can, and it might be possible for them to add this fantastic option to your tickets ahead of your visit. It should be a quick call, but it isn't toll-free, unfortunately.
If you can't upgrade in the app or don't want to make the call, I would plan to arrive in the morning and add Lightning Lane in the app. While it is subject to availability, if you don't wait until later in the day, I think you should be good to go, except on the most popular of days.
