Jambo, Karen! I am so happy that you came back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Every single time I enter the lobby at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I am completely blown away by the awe-inspiring architecture and the amazing art.
Karen,
Jiko - The Cooking Place and
Boma - Flavors of Africa are two of my absolute favorite restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Culinary Tour will take you to both locations, where a Cultural Representative will tell you a little bit about what makes those locations so unique.
This tour will last around 30 minutes, and you will get to taste one specialty from each restaurant as well as explore the art and architecture and learn the story of each location. Recent guests have told me that they were able to sample "A Tour of Africa" from Jiko - The Cooking Place and a "Zebra Dome" from Boma - Flavors of Africa, however, this may change without notice.
Karen, even if a Zebra Dome is not offered as a treat on your tour, you must try one. If you are not dining at Boma - Flavors of Africa, you can pick up a 4-pack to-go at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge's quick service location,
The Mara.
Currently, these tours are offered daily at 4:15. Reservations are not required, and you will meet in the lobby of Jiko - The Cooking Place, about 15 minutes before your tour is scheduled to begin. Since activities are always changing, I would confirm the time and meeting place with your resort's concierge upon arrival.
I hope that this gave you a little bit of information about the tour, Karen. Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can help as you plan your wild, and delicious, Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
