I was told that on the Disney cruise boats you are able to pay for photo recognition and that Disney then takes photos of us while on our cruise. Is this true? Can you tell me price? Thanks

Welcome aboard, Andrea! You must have an exciting Disney cruise in your future!

Onboard all four of Disney Cruise Line's magical ships, there will be photographers all over the place. Many times they are with one of Disney's characters or sometimes just in the restaurants or on Castaway Cay for those special photo opportunities.

If you'd like your photo taken, just hand your Key to the World Card to the photographer. They will scan this card to record your stateroom information. Your photo is then connected with your account. There is a photography shop onboard as well. Shutters is the place to stop each day to check out your pictures. You'll have either an album assigned to your family or you can browse the events and days to find photos of your family that are hanging on display. (On the Fantasy and Dream there is photo recognition to assign your family's photos to your album but always try to provide your key just to ensure your photos are assigned correctly.) You will also find digital photo stations where you can scan your card to bring up your family's entire album from the cruise. There is no charge to have photos taken, only to purchase the photos.

There are a few different photo packages available.  Prices are always subject to change, but to give you an idea, when I sailed on the six night Magic cruise last month, 10 digital photos on a disk were $149.95, 20 digital photos on a disk were $249.95 and unlimited digital photos on a disk were $349.95. Prices vary depending on the length of your sailing. Keep in mind you can always purchase just a print or two as well. These are available in different sizes and again, though prices are always subject to change, you can expect to pay about $10 to $20 per photo depending on size.

Also, keep in mind, you are able to take your own pictures with the characters as well.

Have fun as you continue to plan, Andrea, and please let me know if I can help out with anything else!
