Tammy,
No, Disney's
BoardWalk is a different venue. It is a fun one, though certainly smaller and more quaint in comparison to Downtown Disney. Let's talk about the four "Ws";
WHERE?: The Epcot Area Resorts (Beach & Yacht Clubs, Beach Club Villas, BoardWalk Inn & Villas) are situated on a lake that is just outside of the Epcot World Showcase. You can walk or boat there from the International Gateway at Epcot (located between the France and UK Pavilions), or the front gate of the Hollywood Studios.
WHAT?: The BoardWalk is a recreation of the boardwalks of Atlantic City, New Jersey from the turn of the century (the LAST century, that is). It hugs one side of that lake, as part of the BoardWalk Inn/Villas structure. On the BoardWalk there are restaurants, carnival games, stores, lounges, and even a wedding pavilion.
WHEN?: Obviously it is there 24/7, but it really doesn't come to life until the evening. There are entertainers (comics, magicians, jugglers, etc.) that perform to the crowds along the BoardWalk throughout the evening.
WHAT ELSE?: The ambiance here is very family friendly. There are activities you can do together (surrey bikes for rent), dining for all ranges (Signature - Flying Fish, Casual - ESPN Club, lounges - Jellyrolls), and some interesting shopping.
So that is my quick review. I really enjoy going there, though for many it is hard to get to and hard to find a free night to try it out. If you can, I highly recommend it. But if it will be hard to find the time, don't worry. You can save it for a future trip!
Have a magical vacation!
