Howdy, Marcella!
How exciting it will be to celebrate your little mouseketeer’s birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth!
While our family hasn’t used such a child carrier, we have taken a large backpack to Disneyland Resort many times. We love the convenience of having our personal items handy. But there are tradeoffs. Maybe I can describe what that's like for us to help you judge how it might compare to taking your carrier.
Yes, a child carrier pack is allowed in the Disneyland Resort, as long as it adheres to backpack size restrictions listed in the
Disneyland Resort park rules. When visiting the parks, we start off at security, where all bags are screened. You will need to remove the carrier to have it ready for inspection. Inside the parks, when going through crowded lanes or in lines, I refrain from sudden turns to avoid bumping into other guests. Lockers are available to rent at select locations. But there are generally no storage areas near individual attractions to keep your pack. So the pack would need to be removed and collapse enough to fit with you and your family on ride vehicles. Finally, on warmer days, I do find our backpack to not have much breathability between my back and the pack. I personally tend to perspire a bit more in areas directly covered by the pack, making for interesting looks depending on the type of shirt I wear. We evaluate those tradeoffs each time we visit the parks to decide whether we take our backpack with us. If you find that you would like an alternative for transporting your child,
stroller rentals are available as well.
I hope this provides some useful perspective for you to decide on the best ways to enjoy your time at the Disneyland Resort.
Have a magical time!
