Do you have any tips for visiting Disney on a budget?

I'm so glad you asked me this question because I was just speaking with someone this weekend about visiting Walt Disney World on a budget.

On my first trip to Walt Disney World we were on an extremely tight budget. We were able to have a ten-day vacation at Walt Disney World for LESS than our four day vacation at the beach that same year. Everyone is shocked when they hear that, but it is all about knowing how to get the most bang for your buck.

My top tip for visiting Walt Disney World on a budget is to visit during "value" season. September is my favorite time of year to visit because the rates are low, the weather is cool and the crowds are light. It doesn't get any better than that!

You can stay at a value resort for an excellent rate. I always recommend staying on site at Walt Disney World because it saves time, money and stress. We stayed at All Star Movies for four years and we LOVED it! It is still the favorite resort for my two kids. Kids especially love the fun theme, my kids love Toy Story, the pool is great, the food court has a great selection and the room have a fun theme.

I also recommend taking advantage of the FREE dining promotion when it is offered. It is being offered during the September timeframe this year, and in the past it has been offered in September, so this offers double bang for your buck. Value season + free dining = excellent savings.

You can also save money thoughout your trip by buying Disney gift cards throughout the year in small amounts, like $20 here and there. You can give your kids Disney gift cards as gifts for good report cards, chores, etc.. Save up the gift cards and then when you go on vacation, you will have money to spend on souvenirs, your room, tickets, food, etc.. It is a great way to save for your vacation without it feeling like a big effort.

    Magically,
    Stacy
