Any tips on when to ride Crush coaster? I heard it’s like Cosmic Rewind and want to know if it’s worth waiting for

Thanks for floating by planDisney with your question. I'm happy to help as you prepare to visit Disneyland Paris

My family visited for the first time earlier this year and like you, we had our sights set on experiencing Crush's Coaster at Walt Disney Studios Park. We paddled straight there during Extra Magic Time on our departure day but found that the attraction was unavailable. There were quite a few people already in the queue, but Crush and friends were either taking it slow and opting for a delayed opening or perhaps experiencing some gnarly technical difficulties and not allowing additional guests to enter. We really wanted to experience it before swimming on to other adventures in Paris, so we opted to go with the flow and purchased Disney Premier Access One for a return window a little later that morning.

In true "just keep swimming" fashion, Crush’s Coaster reopened its standby queue mere minutes after we swam off to another attraction! By the time we returned, the standby wait swelled over 80 minutes so we were glad we shelled out for Premier Access to avoid the line.

This attraction was totally righteous and I'm certainly glad we got to experience it, but it's quite different than Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. While both are dark coasters with some spinning elements, for me, Cosmic Rewind’s thrill level is in a galaxy of its own. I also felt the speed and overall ride time on Crush's Coaster felt a bit slower and shorter. I would still recommend experiencing it during your visit as it's unique to Disneyland Paris, but I'd recommend purchasing Premier Access for a shorter wait or lingering around the queue entrance if it's not open right when you arrive.

I'd also like to share some seating tips when loading the actual ride vehicle. My husband and daughter boarded first, facing in the direction the turtle shell was moving. My son and I boarded second and were facing backward. While both directions offered some tummy-tickling spins, my forward-facing family got a better view of the attraction’s theming and atmosphere. It’s not a dealbreaker, but if you can, try to face forward to soak in more of the undersea details.

I hope this helped, Deena. If we can answer any additional questions please don't hesitate to hitch a ride on the East Australian current right back to planDisney and let us know. Wishing you a magical visit!
